Kyrenia, or Girne in local language, is the biggest tourist city in Northern Cyprus. Many local tourists, or tourists from Turkey and nearby countries visit this town, made the town touristicly expensive.
Since we arrived there during Hajj holiday, we had difficulty to find a hotel room. We visited 3 hotels, all full, then the staff of the Cyprus Dorm introduced us to nearby motel, not good for stay, but the location was good, and the least expensive then remaining hotels that had rooms.
The small harbour was pretty, with lots of restaurants and cafes, nicely decorated, but expensive.
We ate in the restaurant recommended by Lonely Planet, called Set Fish. It was expensive but nice, with the view of the harbour. After the dinner, we had a walk, and stopped by in a cafe, with live music, to drink hot chocolate, since it was quite a cool and windy night.
The next morning, we woke up early to visit the castle. We were the first visitor at 8am that morning. The view from the castle was quite amazing. There was a nice exhibition on a ship wreck inside the castle.
